Trauma therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic or overwhelming experiences. Trauma can impact the nervous system, brain function, emotional regulation, and relationships.
At CK Mental Health & Trauma Therapy Centre, trauma therapy may include approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other evidence-based, trauma-informed methods. Treatment is paced to support nervous system safety and integration.

Couples therapy helps partners identify communication patterns, reactive cycles, and attachment dynamics that may be creating conflict or disconnection.
We use trauma-informed and attachment-based frameworks to help couples improve emotional safety, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection. Therapy focuses on both relational skills and underlying nervous system responses that influence conflict patterns.

Family therapy supports parents and caregivers in strengthening communication, improving co-regulation, and addressing behavioural or relational concerns.
Sessions may include education about trauma, attachment, and nervous system regulation while helping families move toward healthier interaction patterns.

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the nature of the concerns being addressed.

Yes. We provide EMDR therapy for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and distressing life experiences.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain reprocess difficult memories so they become less emotionally charged and more integrated. It is a structured, evidence-based approach widely used in trauma treatment.
Virtual EMDR therapy is available for clients across Ontario

Brainspotting is a trauma-focused therapy that works with the brain and body to access and process stored trauma through focused eye positioning and mindful attunement.
While EMDR follows a structured protocol, Brainspotting is often more flexible and deeply somatic in nature. Both approaches are effective trauma treatments and may be selected based on client needs and clinical assessment.
