Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based therapeutic approach that helps clients better understand and manage intense emotions, navigate difficult situations, and strengthen their relationships. DBT combines acceptance and change, helping clients acknowledge their experiences as they are while also developing practical tools to respond differently when needed. The approach focuses on four core areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through these skills, clients can develop greater awareness of their emotions, cope more effectively during periods of distress, communicate their needs more clearly, and build healthier patterns in their everyday lives.
